Thirteen years ago, an orthopedic surgeon, based in Beverly Hills, both wanted and need shoes that would neither injure or hurt her feet. Knowing that many women could identify with her, Taryn Rose envisioned a type of shoe that was fashionably correct, as well as comfortable. A footwear revolution ensued and the rest is history.

The Poron foam footbed with arch support helps minimize foot stress, while cushioning and absorbing the shock of each step. Plus, the sandal easily flexes as you walk. A hook-and-loop backstrap allows you to adjust the fit.

Dr. Rose I think you've made an egregious error with that decision.The soles of these shoes are a thick shiny good looking plank of MARBLE. Yes, that hard and rigid. Pretty to look at indeed but no flex whatsoever. So if a no flex shoe is what you orthopedically, need you've come to the right place. All Taryn's as far as I know have a very firm sole (really bad for a person with no arch, that hard edge will give you a hell of a painful callous) but this is harder than the rest. This sole belongs on a ski or skate boot.As for just looks, it is attractive. Kind of a T Strap on the leg. Sexy. A super black that would even go with dressier dresses and dinners out if you like me can't wear a high heel.I like that the back strap is done with Velcro. Good for those with back knee or hip difficulties.The first instep strap fits right.That's the end of the compliments.The mid and forefoot straps are way too loose for the medium width I purchased. By the time you get to the end of the shoe your toes have so much room you think you're missing your sixth seventh and eighth toes!Like the Marianna I reviewed, with so much extra plus this too is made of a textile that has give, your rear foot is not held snugly enough for you to walk with the stability it needs no matter how much you snug that velcro'd strapA NO for me.

While they fit a bit large, I doubt a smaller size would be better. The sandals are extremely comfortable and look great for work or casual wear.

It's just a shame the black dye came off on my feet. I only wore them for an hour around the house to check the comfort level without getting the soles dirty in case I had to return them. Imagine my surprise when I took them off and my feet were black - didn't expect that from the Taryn Rose brand. Being an open sandal I can't really use a shoe insert so if my shoemaker doesn't have a solution I will have to return them.
